Ideal for studios, live rigs, and broadcast applications, the API Audio 225L is VCA-based compressor/limiter module for L200 enclosures such as the Legacy, Legacy Plus, and Vision consoles. Sporting selectable feedforward (New) and feedback (Old) modes, selectable hard- or soft-knee compression, and auto-makeup gain, this module lets you sculpt optimal dynamics quickly. The 225L sports numerous variable controls, including compression ratio (1:1 to Infinity:1), release time (0.3 to 3 seconds), and attack time (1 to 25 ms). You also get threshold control between +10 and -20 dBu. The unit features a 5-segment LED gain reduction meter for keeping an eye on your signal processing. The 2510 and 2520 op-amps, along with a custom API output transformer, ensure the signature API sound and reliability that API hardware is known for. The 225L supports stereo linking between two units, allowing you to optionally engage in stereo dynamics processing. The unit also features a side-chain input for the detection amplifier.
