Improving upon the popular 500-6B lunchbox, the 8-Slot Lunchbox from API Audio is a portable 500-series rack chassis that holds up to eight 500-series and VPR-approved modules for a wide range of applications. Sporting up to 250mA of current per slot and convenient DB25 connectivity in the rear, this lunchbox is set up to tackle nearly any configuration you could want. The 8-slot lunchbox features a toggle switch on each slot for easy channel linking. The chassis provides up to 48V phantom power per slot for active microphones. The rugged steel chassis can survive rigorous applications and the unit includes rubber feet and a carrying handle for easy transport and desktop mounting. The chassis can also be rackmounted onto standard equipment racks via optional rack ears (sold separately). This 8-slot lunchbox includes an external universal power supply (100 to 250 VAC) with a locking DC power connector.

A Lunchbox for Any Occasion

The lunchbox gives an engineer the flexibility to bring along specialized EQ effects to any situation: 550A, 550b, or 560. API makes several modules for the lunchbox, including the 512c Mic Preamplifier, the 525 Compressor, the 527 Compressor, the 550A 3-band EQ, the 550b 4-band EQ, and the 560 Graphic EQ. Combinations of these modules make perfect stereo recording packages (two 512cs and two 550bs) or vocalist’s box (one 512c, two EQs, and one 527).
